The year 2020 marks the centennial of the Nineteenth Amendment and the culmination of the women’s suffrage movement.  The year 2020 also marks the sesquicentennial of the Fifteenth Amendment (1870) and the right of black men to the ballot after the Civil War. With important local, state and national elections upon us, it is important now more than ever to learn about your voting rights!

Join us for lunch and a panel discussion on voting rights, including the basics of voter registration and voting, barriers to the exercise of voting rights, local organizations that assist voters in enforcing their rights, and current paths to overcome barriers.  The panel will include Ruby Mendez-Mota, Advocacy Fellow of the ACLU, Linda Bosio Enforcement Director of Intermountain Fair Housing Council and  formerly of the Latino Vote, Dina Flores-Brewer, Director of DisAbility Rights Idaho, and Natalie Camacho Mendoza, Engagement Committee Chair of the NAACP.  Zoe Ann Olson of Intermountain Fair Housing Council and IWL will moderate.

Lunch will be provided for those that Register by Friday, September 20, 2019. Special thanks to Parsons Behle & Latimer for hosting this event.
